25 May 2025: Finally good SW wind again

Only the 2nd session of the year, and that at the end of May: not the best spring. We have had no SW wind at all. Sailed the Banzai 4.2 on the Grip 93 with MFC 20/10 thruster fins. 30 March 2025: Finally surfing again

Very late start of the season. Unfortunately a long time no wind, or just too cold. Sailed the Banzai 6.0 on the F-Cross 113 with MFC 32cm. Great to finally be surfing again. In retrospect, the Grevelingendam was the best choice. Somehow there was less wind at the sea. Clear blue sky, lovely sunshine. Not really cold, not needed my mittens. [Read...]

Finally a SW wind predicted, unfortunately the wind was disappointing. Sailed the S-Type 7.3 on the iSonic 117 with Sonntag 43cm. Lots of long runs, lots of planing jibes. 24 November 2024: Edge of storm Bert: Bertje

Storm Bert predicted: 30 to 48 knots, SSW, but dry and very warm for time of year. The wind was quite disappointing. Sailed the Banzai 4.7 on the Grip 9.3 with MFC 21/11cm thruster fins. Low tide and south wind, so a long walk to have free wind. Further out, the wind only got stronger and it was hands full. Unfortunately, the wind dropped quickly after the first half hour. At the end I could only plane towards the beach, by using the waves to get into plane. Going out it was no longer possible to plane. With 16 degrees it was nice and warm, a little bit of sun.
